End of year reflection.

Hello there people of the internet, This is going to be my last blog post. The end of the year is near so this is a reflection about this year hope you enjoy.

My Book club reflection

As we near the end of our first Book Club series, reflect on your learning (think about your Reading Goal and the Key Competencies).

Backward-Looking:

How much did you know about Book Club before we started?

I didn’t really know much about book club because I have never done book club before but now that we are doing book club I am starting to get used to doing book club and your team that are assigned to me are pretty good at reading like I am.

Inward-Looking:

What were your goals for Reading and Book Club? Have your goals changed? Are you on track to meet your goals?

I would say I am on track with goals and also my goals have not yet changed because I not yet achieved it but I have achieved most of goals but because I still have a few more to achieve I can still forget things in the process of elimination. 

Outward-Looking:

 If you were the teacher, what comments would you make about your learning so far?

“ You’re reaching your goals to a high standards although some of your goals aren't finished and you need to get a hold of them.” That is what I would say if I was the teacher and plus as the teacher I would him (me) helpful advice.

Forward-Looking:

 As you look at your work so far, what's one thing that you would like to try to improve upon?

The one thing I would like to work on is making sure my group is reading and up to date because if they don’t they probably won’t finish before the end of the week but they are getting there.

Reflection: 10/09/14 EJ

What:  I have gathered my research notes and sources and now me my group are now finally working on our presentation for genius hour for the next two weeks. We haven’t been in contact til now so we will get there in time.

So what: I have done this because we have two weeks to work on our genius hour projects and we had spent a lot of time on our notes. Although we are now finally working on our presentation now it will be exciting to work on this for the next two weeks.

Now what: What I need to do now is to work with my team mates which we have never worked together but we are getting there and I have only worked with my best friend that is helping me now and it the weekends we might work on our genius hour projects. Next week we will be in contact with team mates for sure so that we can work on our genius hour together so we can get things done faster.

MRS HPS Initial Visit Collaboration Reflection

What?

We were learning about genius hour with May Road school because May Road has heard of genius hour but they have never done it. Our class and Flox class were working with May Road school and also made friends with May Road school.

So what?

We went there because May Road was new to genius hour and we went up there to collaborate with them and also make new friends. They were very interested like us when we were first introduced to genius hour.

Now what?

All I need to do now is to work on my genius hour planning sheet that one of the teachers from May Road school sent to me Feleti<- ( Best friend )  Peter and Sitaleki.

My best friend Feleti came up with the idea about how the eco system works but he wants to know (and also the people up on the first sentence) was how do they communicate and how do they work together.

key competencies

This is my reflection about my key competencies. I am able to adapt to different roles in class when I am in a different group. When adapting to a different part of a role that I am doing I can be able to do it  efficiently. I am able to be efficient about what my role is going to be about, even if I don’t like it I still do it.  Over the last two years I have been able to adapt to different roles other than my normal one.

I can help others that need help, most people that are stuck are able to think fast and ask me or other people. One of the things my teacher likes about me is that I am a good person that likes to help people and inquisitive. People that don’t need help I still help them because they might

I can collaborate with people that aren’t really the thinking type but I can get their  minds going. Another skill I have already mastered is that I can encourage people to think and be enthusiastic about their  learning. Any group I am in I encourage and I just keep encouraging until they get there.

The reason why my teacher thinks I am enthusiastic is because I am encouraging and ready to learn. Most of the things my teacher sends me is signups things that people want to try out but when no one does I always signs.

Xtramaths progress.
My Xtramath progress is very good and I have got a very good score on xtramath. A green square with a smiley face means I can do that fact very quickly. A yellow square means I know that fact but I answered it slowly. A grey square means I missed it and a grey square with an X on it means I got it wrong.
My goal is to work faster on my basic facts because I have missed some.
